How outreach nurses help
Reduce barriers
Vulnerable individuals are often hesitant to visit traditional service providers because of past discrimination or a lack of trust. Outreach services are free, confidential and non-judgmental.
Meet clients where they are
Outreach staff travel throughout Niagara and can visit clients in a public location where they are most comfortable. If additional care or follow-up is needed, outreach staff can refer to other health agencies.
Built-in support services
Public Health Outreach staff can help advocate and support clients through their care.
