How it works
Children in your care may be referred through OneHSN or through private arrangements made directly between families and providers. As a home child care provider, you have the flexibility to accept children based on your home's environment, family dynamics, interests and available spaces.
Finding the right fit is important for children, families and providers helping to build positive and successful care relationships. As a provider, you join the Licensed Home Child Care Agency as an independent contractor and self-employed individual.
Responsibilities and Ministry requirements
If selected as a home child care provider with the Agency, you will be required to adhere to all applicable Ministry of Education legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and standards governing licensed home child care, including the requirements contained within the Home Child Care Agency Licensing Manual under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA).
A willingness to learn and adapt
Our Agency is looking for providers who are open to learning and using technology as part of operating a successful home child care program. From online training and digital communication to electronic forms and record management, technology is becoming an increasingly important part of our modernized service model.
