Volunteer board member application
Niagara Region Housing Services is looking for volunteers to help on housing provider boards when needed. We’ll keep your application on file for two years from the date you apply. If a board has an opening during that time, we may contact you to see if you’re still interested. If selected, you may serve on the board for up to two years.
What’s involved
As a board member, you will:
- Serve on the board of a housing provider community
- Attend regular board meetings (frequency to be determined)
- Provide guidance and oversight to support governance, operations and community well-being
- Collaborate with other directors, Housing Services staff and housing professionals
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for individuals with knowledge, experience or interest in:
- Social housing management, community-based programs or housing development
- Serving on a board
- Non-profit or co-operative governance, principles and values
- Finance or property management
- Conflict resolution or community engagement
