Each week, we select one photo to be profiled on our website and social media. We send our choice to local newspapers to be published, pending space availability. Photos may also be used in other materials produced or sponsored by Niagara Region.

Send us your photo

Send us your favourite photos of Niagara for a chance to be selected. Include a brief description of the photo, including where it was taken.

Submit your photo

Before you submit

  • Photos can show any location in Niagara
  • Seasonal scenery, historic landmarks and community events make great submissions
  • Set your camera to its highest resolution and send photos that are at least 300 dpi
  • Choose clear, sharp images — avoid blurry or low-resolution photos
  • You can submit more than one photo
  • Anyone recognizable in your photo must have agreed to be photographed. People who appear only in the background don't need to consent.

  • We review every submission, but not all photos are chosen. All selection decisions are final.
  • If we select your photo, we'll email you before we use it. We only contact photographers whose photos are chosen.
  • Submitted photos are not returned

By submitting a photo, you agree that you:

  • Grant Niagara Region the right to use your photo on our website and social media, and in Regional materials such as the Annual Report, note cards, and other non-profit uses connected with Regional government
  • Waive your moral rights for these uses
  • Have consent from anyone recognizable in the photo for Niagara Region to use their image in the ways described.

You also understand that:

  • We may edit your photo or description before use
  • We will always credit you when we display your photo
  • We will not use your photo for any commercial purpose
  • Your photo may remain in the Niagara photo gallery indefinitely
  • Only the original photographer may submit a photo. Please don't submit photos you didn't take.
