Disclaimers and terms of use

We offer several online tools to help you find information and connect with us. The following information explains how each one works, its limits and what you can expect when you use it.

Digital assistant (chatbot)

Niagara Region’s digital assistant (“the service”) uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you find information about Niagara Region programs and services. Its answers are based on content from niagararegion.ca. Where possible, answers include a link to the Niagara Region page they are based on.

  • The service uses AI, so its responses may be inaccurate, incorrect, incomplete or out of date
  • The service is provided for convenience and information only. It does not provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
  • Responses are not official interpretations of Niagara Region by-laws, policies or legislation. Only official Niagara Region documents and staff can confirm these.
  • Not all information is available through the service, and it may not be able to answer every question
  • Using the service does not submit a request, complaint, application, payment or formal notice to Niagara Region

  • Do not share personal, sensitive or confidential information. This includes names, contact details, credit card numbers, identification numbers, and details about private matters such as health or family situations.
  • Do not use the service in an emergency. Call 911. For urgent issues that are not emergencies, contact Niagara Region by calling 905-980-6000.
  • Always check important information with official sources before you act on it
  • Do not try to disrupt the service, manipulate it, or use it to produce harmful or unlawful content. Niagara Region may limit or block access if the service is misused.
