Public defibrillators

Register the location of your automated external defibrillator (AED) with Niagara EMS, or borrow one from our loaner program for your next event.

What is an automated external defibrillator?

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that checks a person's heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest. If needed, it can deliver an electric shock to help the heart return to a normal rhythm.

AEDs are designed for public use as they guide you through each step with voice prompts, so no medical training is required to use one in an emergency.
