Water quality reports

Niagara Region operates six water treatment plants serving communities across Niagara. Under Ontario Regulation 170/03, Niagara Region and the area municipalities are responsible for providing water quality reports.

Water quality and reports by plant

Water quality data is updated monthly. Select a treatment plant to review current water quality readings, and to download annual and summary reports.

Current status

Values represent water quality leaving the treatment plant on the date shown, except pH which is for distribution water. Updated monthly by a Ministry-certified laboratory.

Water Quality Management System

Niagara Region is committed to providing consumers with high-quality drinking water through a multi-barrier treatment approach and rigorous quality management. To request a copy of the Niagara Region Water Quality Management System Operational Plan, contact Water.

We are committed to:

  • Working to ensure the quality management system is maintained and continually improved
  • Abiding by all relevant legislation and regulations
  • Treating and producing water that is clean and safe
  • Educating the public about the importance of water
  • Respecting Niagara's most precious resource - water

Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program

Licensing

We hold five municipal drinking water licences for six plants as Decew and Niagara Falls systems are interconnected.

We were among the first municipalities in Ontario to receive these licences and have maintained accreditation since 2009.

Financial planning

Niagara Region is required to maintain a Water Financial Plan to plan for the long-term funding of our drinking water systems.

This is part of the Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program.
