Project overview
The Rolling Acres Sewage Pumping Station located at 7305 Rolling Acres Cres. in Niagara Falls was built in 1962. It had upgrades done in 1987. The station is in poor condition and has escalating maintenance needs. The generator tank is a single-walled tank which is also in poor condition.
This station services about 1,600 people. It is not identified as a major growth area in the Water and Wastewater Master Servicing Plan. The station moves flows via a sanitary forcemain from the upstream area and discharges into a sewer at the intersection of Thorold Stone Road and Dorchester Road. The current station capacity will be able to accommodate predicted future growth in the area.
Construction of a new station next to the existing station and forcemain replacement include:
- Pumps
- Piping
- Valves
- Metering
- Instrumentation
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Shelter replacement
- Generator upgrades
- Security upgrades
The new forcemain will run from the new station along Rolling Acres Crescent and connect to the existing forcemain at the intersection of Rolling Acres Drive and Thorold Stone Road. This project is being led by Niagara Region with the City of Niagara Falls.
