Project overview

Niagara Region completed a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the Livingston Avenue (Regional Road 512) extension in 2020.

The Region has now completed the detailed design for a portion of the Livingston Avenue extension. The scope of the project has changed to address increased traffic associated with the new GO station development on Livingston Avenue.

The project will include:

  • Converting Livingston Avenue from a two-lane rural road to a three-lane urban road with curb and gutter
  • Adding sidewalks on both sides of the road to improve pedestrian access
  • Installing a signalized intersection at Casablanca Boulevard (Regional Road 10) and Livingston Avenue
  • Extending Livingston Avenue approximately 110 metres from the current end of the travelled roadway

The remainder of the Livingston Avenue extension is not proceeding at this time.

Future updates about the Livingston Avenue extension will be provided through the Casablanca Boulevard (Regional Road 10) road improvements. This work includes construction on Livingston Avenue and by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.
