Tree branch collection Oct. 26-Nov. 20, 2026

Fall branch collection underway across Niagara until Nov. 20

With autumn in full swing, branch collection starts today (Oct. 26) and continues until Nov. 20, with curbside branch collection available to residents of single-family homes and apartments with six units or less across Niagara.

When setting out branches for collection, it is important to remember:

  • Branches must be tied into bundles using string or twine
  • Maximum weight of a bundle: 22.7 kg (50 lbs)
  • Maximum bundle size: 1.5 m (5 ft) in length and 0.5 m (1.6 ft) in diameter
  • Individual branches inside the bundle must not exceed 7 cm (2.8 in) in diameter
  • Branches must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day, or placed out the night before after 5 p.m.
  • Branches may be collected separately from Green Bin material, so they may not be picked up at the same time

Large branches and tree limbs exceeding these limits can be dropped off at the Regional Waste and Recycling Drop-off Depots year-round, free of charge. Disposal fees will apply for stumps larger than 18 inches in diameter. To avoid delays at drop-off depots, plan your visit outside of the busiest days (which are typically Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays).

Information about special collection weeks, including branch collection, holiday collection and Christmas tree collection, can be found on the Niagara Region website or in the Niagara Region Waste App, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
