Niagara Thrives campaign launched to support local businesses and strengthen the local economy
Niagara Region is launching Niagara Thrives, a campaign designed to support the local economy as trade and tariff conditions continue to affect Niagara businesses, consumers and communities.
“Changing trade and tariff conditions can affect costs, supply chains and access to markets for businesses across Niagara,” said Ron Tripp, Chief Administrative Officer, Niagara Region. “Niagara Thrives is designed to strengthen our local economy by encouraging residents to choose local and connecting businesses with practical resources to navigate, adapt and thrive.”
Niagara Thrives directs local businesses to Tariff Resources and Support for Niagara Businesses, Niagara Region’s central online source for trade and tariff information. The resource helps businesses assess their options, determine next steps and connect with relevant government agencies and support organizations.
“Niagara businesses are central to the jobs, services and experiences that make our communities strong,” said George Spezza, Director, Economic Development, Niagara Region. “As businesses navigate changing trade and tariff conditions, the choices residents make can have a meaningful local impact. This campaign recognizes that a strong local economy depends on thriving businesses and residents who choose to support them.”
As Niagara enters the holiday season, the Niagara Thrives campaign will be encouraging residents to shop, support and share local pride. Residents can support Niagara businesses by choosing locally made products and services, enjoying experiences close to home, recommending favourite businesses and leaving positive online reviews.
Residents can find and support local businesses through the Niagara Business Directory, while businesses can access trade and tariff information, guidance and support through Niagara Economic Development.
