Road closure information

For road closure information, visit road closures in Niagara or Municipal511.ca for real-time information on closures and construction updates. Municipal511 shares road information that connects to Google Maps and Waze. It helps Niagara Region, local municipalities and the Ministry of Transportation better coordinate local construction projects to minimize traffic disruption.

Efforts will be made to maintain access to properties and minimize disruptions to businesses, residents and pedestrians. The Region’s construction inspector for Ridley Road is Marko Zelenbaba, Civil Inspector. Marko can be contacted at 905-324-6951 for information or concerns related to the construction.

There may be periodic inconveniences during construction. Driveway access may be affected, and notice will be provided in advance if this happens.

To ensure worker safety and complete the work efficiently, single lane closures are required throughout the project. Traffic may be congested at times. Pedestrian access will be maintained but care is requested when walking through the construction zone.

The construction inspector will inform you if any landscaping items such as trees, shrubs, fences, planters or irrigation systems on city property conflict with the work. Property owners should remove or relocate these items before construction begins. Damaged or removed landscaping items will not be replaced by the contractor.
If you have an irrigation system on city property, mark it with white spray paint or stake it out within six metres of the roadway.

Only systems that are properly marked by the owner and damaged during construction will be repaired. Property owners will be responsible for repairing unmarked systems.
