Volunteer with Public Health

Niagara Region Public Health has a variety of programs that offer positions for rewarding volunteer involvement.

You can complete an online volunteer request form for any positions you are interested in.

Current Volunteer Positions

  • F.U.E.L. Volunteer Fitness Instructor
    Niagara Region Public Health is looking for female instructors who are willing to volunteer their services to the "Females Using Energy for Life" (F.U.E.L.) program in the 2011/2012 school year.

    F.U.E.L. is an after-school, girls-only, physical activity program designed to encourage female youth to be more active.

  • Community Food Advisor Community Food Advisors
    Provide reliable, unbiased and current information to individuals and groups on safe and nutritious food selection, preparation and storage practices in Niagara. They do this through presentations, displays and cooking demonstrations.

    Individuals interested in becoming a Community Food Advisor must complete an interview and application, providing 2 references. They must complete a free 36 hour training session offered by Public Health. This training takes place every 2 years.

  • Physical Activity Advisors
    Motivate Niagara residents to adopt a physically more active lifestyle. They deliver current information through presentations and displays to community groups, organizations and workplaces.

    Individuals interested in becoming a Physical Activity Advisor must complete an interview and application, providing 2 references. They must take part in a mandatory 22 hour free training session offered by Public Health. This training takes place every 2 years.
