Niagara Region is responsible for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of the Regional Road Network.
The Regional Road Network connects both rural and urban centres to each other as well as the Provincial Highway System.
Weight restrictions on Niagara Regional Roads are in place for commercial vehicles over 5-tonnes (per axle). Some restrictions are temporary from March 1 – April 30. Other restrictions are year-round.

Regional Road 39 (North Service Road) Will Be Closed
June 25, 2010 - to all traffic at the limits
of the 15 Mile Creek Bridge from July 5 - December 2, 2010 in the Town of Lincoln and the City of St. Catharines.
Regional Road 627 (O'Reilly's Road) Closed
May 25, 2010 - Regional Road 627 at O'Reilly's Bridge between Riverside Drive and River Road, in the Township of Wainfleet and Town of Pelham will be temporarily closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until December 2010.
Temporary Road Closure on the QEW.
The South Service Road on-ramp to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) west of Martindale Road, and the Highway 406 on-ramp to the Fort Erie bound QEW will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from April 11 to August 2010.
Regional Road 81 (King St.) is closed until furthur notice.
King St., between Seventh and Ninth Streets in the Town of Lincoln and City of St. Catharines, is closed for repairs
Niagara Region is currently undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the section of Regional Road 77 (Welland Avenue) between Regional Road 48 (Niagara Street) and the QEW.
