Smoke-Free By-law
- Bylaw 22-2002
Since May, 31, 2003, residents and visitors have been able to “Breathe In Niagara”. Regional Council passed a smoking by-law regulating smoking of tobacco in all indoor public places and workplaces. Bars, bingo halls, restaurants, and workplaces will be 100% smoke-free throughout the Niagara Region. Private clubs, race tracks, and casinos were exempt from the by-law until May 31, 2006 when the Smoke-Free Ontario Act came into effect.
