Road closure for Martindale Road (Regional Road 38) in St. Catharines
June 8 to Dec. 31, 2026
Martindale Road (Regional Road 38) from Main Street (Regional Road 87) to South Service Road (Regional Road 40) will be closed to through traffic from June 8 to Dec. 31, weather permitting.
The closure is needed to remove and replace the J.R. Stork Bridge over Richardson’s Creek located about 550 metres south of Main Street (Regional Road 87).
Detour
- Northbound access: South Service Road (Regional Road 40) > Seventh Street Louth (Regional Road 34) > Lakeshore Road West / Main Street (Regional Road 87) > Martindale Road (Regional Road 38)
- Southbound access: Main Street / Lakeshore Road West (Regional Road 87) > Seventh Street Louth (Regional Road 34) > South Service Road (Regional Road 40) > Martindale Road (Regional Road 38)
Businesses and residents will have access up to Dalemere Boulevard from Main Street and up to Courtland Street from South Service Road during the closure but will not be permitted to cross the bridge. Businesses will remain open at all times.
Emergency services will also have access using the detour routes but will be unable to cross the bridge.
