Notice of proposed amendment to the 2026 Niagara Regional General Tax Levy Budget
At its meeting on Thursday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m., Regional Council will consider a budget amendment to use $140,000 from the Police Contingency Reserve fund as an in-year budget amendment to temporarily fund one Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit Golden Horseshoe position for the period of March 1 to Dec. 31, 2026.
Approval of this amendment will not affect the Niagara Region General Tax Levy for 2026. As such, residents will not see a change associated with the Niagara Region’s portion of the municipal tax levy charged in 2026.
