Road closure for Main Street West (Regional Road 81) in Grimsby
​Thursday, June 18 at 1 p.m. to Sunday, June 21 at 6 a.m.
Main Street West (Regional Road 81) will be closed to through traffic from:
- Christie Street / Mountain Street (Regional Road 12) to Ontario Street on Thursday, June 18 at 1 p.m. to Sunday, June 21 at 6 a.m., weather permitting
- Patton Street to Christie Street / Mountain Street (Regional Road 12) on Saturday, June 20 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting
The road closure is needed for the Happening in Grimsby 2026 special event.
Detour
- Mountain Street (Regional Road 12) > Elm Street > Main Street East (Regional Road 81)
- Main Street West (Regional Road 81) > Elm Street > Main Street East (Regional Road 81)
Businesses and residents will have access during the closure but may be directed to take an alternate route to get to their destination.
Emergency services will not have through access during the event. An emergency access lane will be created if there is an emergency.
