All Niagara Region projects

About the project

Niagara Region has completed a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the Livingston Avenue extension (Regional Road 512). This was completed in 2020.

Niagara Region is now starting the detailed design for the Livingston Avenue extension. The extension will start where the road currently ends, just west of Casablanca Boulevard (Regional Road 10). It will then extend toward Main Street West (Regional Road 81) in Grimsby.

This project aims to improve connections in the area and meet long-term transportation needs. This includes a new train station and daily GO train service. Construction is expected to start in 2031, pending construction of the new train station and budget approvals.

The design will include complete streets and the following features:

  • Two-lane road with a sidewalk on one side
  • Active transportation facilities
  • Intersection improvements at Livingston Avenue (Regional Road 512) and Oakes Road
  • New sewers and culverts
  • Lighting
