Gilmore Lodge Redevelopment (Spring 2024)

We're excited to introduce Gilmore Lodge at 60 King St. in Fort Erie. Gilmore Lodge is a new resident-centered, state-of-the-art long-term care home serving 160 individuals.

Residents, families and community members had the opportunity to drive the design of this home, including developing smaller neighbourhoods to support the well-being of residents, and offer a community of new friends and customised experiences.

In line with our Seniors Services philosophy of "nothing about me without me", current residents and families named the neighbourhoods:

• Point Abino
• Bay Beach
• Crystal Beach
• Thunder Bay Beach
• Waverly Beach

The chosen names are a nod to the rich history of Fort Erie and the new Gilmore Lodge community.

Design highlights

Gilmore Lodge is situated in an idyllic location with views of the Niagara River and Peace Bridge. It offers:

• A welcoming town square with fireplace seating and Internet connections for residents to stay in touch with friends and family
• Bright, open concept living spaces
• Courtyards and balconies to enjoy outdoor living
• Heated sidewalks
• Individual bedrooms with ceiling lifts
• Independent heating and cooling systems in each resident bedroom
• Dedicated clinic spaces to support 24/7 nursing services
• Multiple therapeutic spaces for programming and worship services
• A celebration room for residents and families to book for birthdays, anniversaries and other special events
