Niagara Week 2024

From May 13 to 15, 2024, Niagara Region hosted a three-day advocacy event at Queen's Park known as Niagara Week.

The event provided Regional Council and senior staff the opportunity to promote core growth-related priorities while strengthening the Region's intergovernmental relationship with the Government of Ontario.

To kickstart the event, the Region hosted a reception for all members of Provincial Parliament on May 13. This event allowed Council to network with senior government officials and showcase why Niagara is the best region to invest in.

During the three-day advocacy event, eight productive meetings were held with eleven members of Cabinet to discuss ongoing Regional initiatives that will support Niagara's growing population and help meet joint provincial and Regional priorities.

Many ministers expressed interest in learning more about ongoing Regional projects, requesting additional information and briefings, as well as the coordination of formal visits to Niagara.

Regional Council appreciates the warm welcome received from the Provincial Government and looks forward to building off of the success of Niagara Week so that collectively we can keep Growing Better Together.
