The Niagara Region Bursary Program is designed to help students with financial needs pursue college, university or other postsecondary education.
The bursary program is currently available for the 2010/11 academic year, starting in September 2010. Bursaries are given to individuals to help them cover the cost of tuition and other fees, books, equipment or local transportation.
Full bursaries of up to $500 are available for students entering college or university in a certificate, diploma or degree program. Partial bursaries of up to $250 are available for students beginning a short-term academic upgrading, apprenticeship, trade or skills-based training program. There is a total amount of $50,000 available for eligible students.
The deadline is Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 4:30 p.m. All applicants will be notified by September 30, 2010 whether or not their application for a bursary is successful.
