Elder Abuse

Elder abuse is any action or inaction which causes harm or threatens to cause harm to a senior.

Abuse takes many forms - physical, emotional, psychological, financial or neglect.

Often abuse is done by someone in a position of trust, but a stranger could also be an abuser.

Warning Signs to Look For

A victim of elder abuse may exhibit:

  • changes in behaviour
  • changes in habits
  • changes in health or well-being
  • isolation

We can arrange for a presentation on elder abuse, the recognition of risk signs and strategies to minimize risks.
