Care is far more than just the treatment of your physical needs. Care encompasses body, mind, soul and your whole person.
The foundation of our philosophy of care is respect for your:
Care is provided around the clock by a team of professional and compassionate people. As much as possible, we involve you and your family in your care planning.
Our nursing team of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses provide your daily supervised health care, including assessing illnesses, providing treatments and administering medications.
Our Personal Support Workers or Health Care Aides help with your daily personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming and meals.
At admission, you will choose an attending physician who has medical privileges at the home or choose to be under the care of the home's Medical Director. Attending physicians and the Medical Director make regular visits to their patients and work in collaboration with the home care staff.
We serve three appetizing meals a day with snacks offered in between meals. The registered dietitian approves all menus based on the Canada Food Guide. Your individual preferences are taken into consideration and alternate foods are available at each meal.
Special and therapeutic diets and appropriate supplements are provided, if required. The dietitian or the food service manager is available to discuss any dietary or nutritional concerns with you and your family.
We offer the services of resident and family support workers to you and your family for consultation and counselling. Shortly after moving in, a social worker will contact you to provide an opportunity to share information and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. As well, your family will be invited to attend an orientation session about the home.
Spiritual support is provided through weekly interdenominational faith services as well as specific faith services available by community.
A Pastoral Care Coordinator is available to provide counselling and spiritual guidance to you at your request. The ministerial staff of your church or worship centre is also welcome to visit you at the home for one-on-one spiritual support.
