Long-Term Care Homes

Long Term Care Long-term care homes take care of people who are no longer able to live independently in their own homes and who need nursing and/or personal care. Our residents are primarily seniors, but also include adults over 18 in need of care.

More than 950 older adults live in our eight long-term care homes which are located in communities across Niagara.

We also operate The T. Roy Adams Regional Centre for Dementia Care, a unique special care centre for short stay respite and longer stay complex care.

Standards, Compliance and Accreditation

Our homes follow standards set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and are inspected annually. Copies of the compliance reports are available online and are posted at each of our homes. We participate in a voluntary accreditation process and all our homes are fully accredited by Accreditation Canada.

In addition, each of the Region's homes has received a provincial quality improvement award. To earn the award, each home had to meet a rigorous set of requirements that included demonstrating clear results from quality improvement projects undertaken based on training received through Ontario's Residents First program.
