On November 13, 2008, a new web site was launched to attract prospective immigrants and help them settle in Niagara once they've arrived.

The Niagara Immigration web portal helps prospective immigrants:

• Learn about Niagara's labour market
• Calculate costs of living in Canada
• Contact settlement services and organizations
• Obtain a Health card, Social Insurance Number and driver's license
• Learn about climate and seasonal weather conditions
• Adjust to their new home

The portal promotes Niagara as a destination of choice for immigrants. It highlights the combined efforts of more than 100 agencies in the region that provide services for prospective and landed immigrants in settlement and integration.
