Each year, one in five Canadians will experience a mental illness or problem. At any one time, an estimated 10 per cent of employees are experiencing depression.
Workplaces are becoming increasingly aware of the moral and legal importance of taking concrete steps to ensure employees and managers have the knowledge and resources necessary to address mental health issues as they arise as well as the tools to reduce stressful and unhealthy working environments.
Providing a healthy workplace requires implementing policies and processes. Register and join us for this engaging presentation and learn the steps to take to sustain positive change.
Dave Gallson is the Associate National Executive Director of Mood Disorders Society of Canada
During our session, Dave will explore:
Dave speaks nationally on mental illness and mental health in the workplace. He has led a national program which worked with hundreds of employers and assisted over 1,000 people with mental health issues to obtain and maintain successful employment.
His extensive experience in working with organizations that want to develop effective mental health policies and practices will provide insight into how your company can produce similar policies.
This topic was suggested to us by several workplaces in Niagara and we hope it provides insights and solutions for your organization.
We encourage you to contact us and suggest other topics for upcoming sessions.
