Community of Practice - Networking Session: Mental Health in the Workplace

This session is FULL -- No more registrations are being accepted.

All workplaces in Niagara are invited to our first workplace health networking session.

Topic: Mental Health in the Workplace

Dave Gallson

Many employees experience some sort of mental illness in their lifetime, causing more lost work days than any other chronic condition and costing the Canadian economy $51 billion each year

Speaker: Dave Gallson, Associate National Executive Director, Mood Disorders Society of Canada

During this session, Dave will share his own personal experience in overcoming depression and how it influenced his decision to change his life path. He will explore the current issues and discuss best practices as they relate to addressing mental illness in the workplace.

Dave has led a national program which worked with hundreds of employers and assisted over 1,000 people with mental health issues to obtain and maintain successful employment. His extensive experience in working with organizations that want to develop effective mental health policies and practices will provide insight into how your company can produce similar policies.

This topic was suggested to us by several workplaces in Niagara and we hope it provides insights and solutions for your organization. We encourage you to contact us and suggest other topics for upcoming sessions.
