- Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a medical condition caused by prenatal
exposure to alcohol. The timing of exposure during pregnancy will result in
a variety of disorders affecting growth and development, learning, speech/language
and behaviour.
- Early diagnosis of children with FASD is key to helping children reach their
full potential.
- Approximately 1% of people living in Canada are affected by FASD. This means
that there may be about 300,000 people living with FASD in Canada
