Middle Years 6 to 12 - Guidance

At these ages your child has learned many skills and is becoming independent. Even though they are growing up, they still need you. They need to learn about safety and danger. They may complain “That’s not fair!”. Ask what they think is fair in the situation. Make sure your expectations and the reasons for them are clear. Know where your child goes online. They need guidelines on whom they can instant message.  You need to instruct them to check with you before giving out any personal information online.
