Volunteer Board Member Application

Niagara Region Housing Services is looking for volunteers to serve temporarily on a Board of Directors for a Housing Provider.

Volunteers who are appointed will serve for a term of up to two years on a board that is seeking support.

What's involved

As a board member, you will:

  • Serve on the board of a housing provider community
  • Attend regular board meetings (frequency to be determined)
  • Provide guidance and oversight to support governance, operations and community well-being
  • Collaborate with other directors, Housing Services staff and housing professionals

What we're looking for

We're looking for individuals with knowledge, experience or interest in:

  • Social housing management, community-based programs or housing development
  • Serving on a board
  • Non-profit or co-operative governance, principles and values
  • Finance or property management
  • Conflict resolution or community engagement
