Through the development and implementation of the WaterSmart Niagara it was found that there was a lot of information produced by a number of organizations in the Niagara area which related to water resource management. This information, if shared, could help with the effective management of the area's water resources. To facilitate the sharing of this information the Information Index was developed. The Information Index is set up similar to an online searchable card catalogue. Users can look up information by topic, geographical area, or other categories or key word. They can find out what information is available, what form it is in and where it can be found.
