Be Disaster Ready!

Be Disaster Ready is a new program delivered at the Niagara Region Children's Safety Village.

The program teaches students in grades one through grade eight about natural hazards including thunderstorms, tornados, floods and severe winter weather, how to prepare for them, and what to do when they strike.

Through interactive activities students will:

  • Identify natural disasters that could impact their community
  • Learn appropriate behaviours for specific natural disasters
  • Learn the importance of a Ready Bag and identify key survival items

Developed by Niagara Region in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, Emergency Management Ontario, Environment Canada and the Niagara Region Children's Safety Village.
