Regional Councillor Norm Puttick is serving his first term on Regional Council. His political career began in 1966 where he served as Alderman for the City of Niagara Falls until 2003.
While at the City of Niagara Falls, he served as Chair of the Casino Committee, Chair of the Smoke Free Committee and Chair of the Second Tier Nursing Home Committee. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 479 and the Niagara Transit Commission. He has also received the Misty Tourism Award for leading progressive development in the city.
He currently serves on the Corporate Services Committee and the Public Works Committee (formerly the Integrated Community Planning and Public Works Committee). He also serves on the Transportation Strategy Steering Committee, Waste Management Planning Steering Committee and an alternate on the Niagara-Hamilton WastePlan Joint Working Group Committee. He also represents Regional Council on the Employee and Family Assistance Program Advisory Committee.
