Regional Councillor Damian Goulbourne is serving his second term as Mayor of the City of Welland. His political career began December 1, 2003.
He currently serves on the Integrated Community Planning Committee (formerly the Integrated Community Planning and Public Works Committee) and the Public Health and Social Service Committee. He also serves on the Transportation Strategy Steering Committee, Culture Committee, Niagara-Hamilton WastePlan Joint Working Group Committee, and the Waste Management Planning Steering Committee. He is also a board member of the Niagara Economic Development Corporation.
He has spent the past 14 years working in the service industry as Marketing Manager, Human Resources and Operations Departments. Councillor Goulbourne was appointed as the representative of the City of Welland to the Humberstone Landfill Site Liaison Committee.
He holds a BA in Business Communications from Brock University. He has been a Professor at Niagara College since 1999.
Councillor Goulbourne has served on the boards of the Habitat for Humanity Niagara, St. Catharines Heart and Stroke Association, Quaker Road School Advisory Council and as President of the Welland Pelham Chamber of Commerce.
