Councillor Bill Hodgson began his political career in 1993 when he was appointed mid-term to the Lincoln County Board of Education. In 1996 he was elected Chair of the Board and also led the Niagara School Board Amalgamation Committee. He was the Chair of the District School Board of Niagara and Vice-President of the Ontario Public School Boards Association in both 2002 and 2003.
Councillor Hodgson is serving his second term as Mayor of the Town of Lincoln, and in this capacity is a Member of Regional Council. Currently he serves on the Integrated Community Planning Committee and the Public Works Committee (formerly the Integrated Community Planning and Public Works Committee). He is also a member of the Agricultural Task Force, Planning Review Committee, and the Waste Management Planning Steering Committee.
