Councillor Bentley is serving his third term as Mayor of the Town of Grimsby and in this capacity serves as a member of Regional Council.
Regional Councillor Bob Bentley was first elected as Alderman for the Town of Grimsby in 1994 and was re-elected in 1997 and 2000. In 1997 and 2000, he was appointed to Regional Council to fill the seat vacated by Debbie Zimmerman, who had been elected as Regional Chair. He was elected Mayor of Grimsby in 2003, 2006 and 2010.
As Alderman, he served on two Standing Committees, Finance and the Recreation and Parks Committee. Councillor Bentley was also a member of the Lincoln County Humane Society, Grimsby Sports Council and of the Board of Management for the Downtown Improvement Area. As a Regional Councillor, he was Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Municipal Services, a member of the Ad Hoc Committee of Council on the Review of Municipal Services.
