Information for Candidates for the Office of Regional Councillor

Nomination Process

In Niagara Region, nomination papers for the office of Regional Councillor must be filed in the Municipal Clerk's Office for the area municipality where the candidate wishes to run for election.

Nomination papers may be filed from January 4, 2010 until 2 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 (Nomination Day). Nomination papers cannot be filed at the Niagara Region Administrative Offices.

The Municipal Clerks of the area municipalities can be contacted for information on the procedures with respect to the filing of nominations for the office of Regional Councillor. The contact information for the local municipalities is outlined below. A list of "Online Resources" is also provided as additional sources of information for candidates.
