What Inter Municipal Specialized Transit Advisory Committee  Does

The advisory committee will provide input and feedback to Regional staff and Regional Council on specialized transit including, but not limited to:

  • Criteria that will govern the eligibility of who may use the transit service and for what type of trips the transit service will be utilized

  • The process by which individuals apply to register to use the inter-municipal specialized transit services including application forms, review and appeal processes

  • The process to be followed to book trips on the system

  • The fares that transit patrons pay for the use of transit services including how fares may vary depending on factors such as the geographic area of service or the length of trip

  • The geographic connections of specialized transit services extending beyond the boundaries of the Region of Niagara

  • The processes for receiving, reviewing and acting on feedback and complaints from the patrons using the inter-municipal specialized transit services

  • The methods by which information concerning existing and potential registered users of the system, actual use of the system and operational characteristics of the system is collected, compiled and reported

  • Processes to communicate information about the inter-municipal specialized transit services to the patrons of the system, agencies providing other services to the patrons of the system and the general public

  • The level of service provided and the impact of changes in service levels on the budget required for operating the inter-municipal specialized transit service.

Outputs from the Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee will communicate their input and suggestions by means of minutes of meetings of the Advisory Committee and reports by the Advisory Committee
