Niagara Region has started a study to look at various site locations for a new Pelham elevated water storage tank.
The existing elevated water tank was built in the 1980's and doesn't have enough storage capacity to support the anticipated future growth in the area.
Due to this, Niagara Region is undertaking a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to evaluate the future needs and find the preferred solutions to meet these needs as well as optimize the system. The new elevated tank is planned to be constructed by 2022.
Once the new Pelham elevated tank is commissioned, the existing tank will be decommissioned.
The map in our photo gallery shows the existing Pelham Elevated Water Tank location and the Environmental Assessment study area.
