Jason Burgess has more than 20 years of progressive financial experience with a proven track record of delivering strategic advice on critical projects for a wide range of organizations.

Jason joined Niagara Region in 2014 as the Director of Procurement and Strategic Acquisitions and currently holds the position of Acting Commissioner of Corporate Services. In this capacity Jason is responsible for:

  • Financial Management and Planning
  • Procurement and Strategic Acquisitions
  • IT Solutions
  • Construction, Energy and Facilities Management
  • Legal and Court Services

Prior to joining Niagara Region, Jason was a Vice-President at Deloitte Canada where he assisted a wide range of clients, including government and the broader public sector, with complex business transactions or critical operational projects. Jason has served in an advisory capacity on significant industry restructuring issues, mergers and acquisitions, feasibility studies, economic impact studies and other critical matters.

Jason is a graduate of Brock University and holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. Jason has a long track record of community services in Niagara supporting both charitable organizations as well as minor sports. He was a Top 40 under 40 recipient and received the Queen's Jubilee Medal for Community Involvement.
