Compost giveaway to support local charities October 15 – October 20, 2018

October 15 to October 20 (while quantities last), residents of Niagara region can collect 1 to 3 bags of compost per vehicle per day during regular business hours. Each bag of compost is 20 litres in size.

In exchange for the compost, residents must donate non-perishable food items or cash in support of Fort Erie COPE (Community Outreach Program – Erie), Grimsby Benevolent Fund, The HOPE Centre, and Project SHARE. The number of compost bags given to each resident in exchange for a donation is at the discretion of the attendant.

Compost is available to residents of Niagara region at the following locations:

Bridge Street landfill

  • 1300 Bridge Street
  • Fort Erie 
  • Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

*Niagara Road 12 landfill

  • Concession Road 7 
  • West Lincoln
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Humberstone landfill

  • 700 Humberstone Road
  • Welland
  • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Recycling Centre

  • 5030 Montrose Road
  • Niagara Falls
  • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • **Saturday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

*Compost is available to residents of Grimsby, Pelham, Lincoln and West Lincoln only

** Recycling Drop-off Depot not open; compost pick-up only
