Compost giveaway to support local charities May 7 - May 12, 2018

May 7 to May 12 (while quantities last), residents of Niagara region can collect 2 to 3 bags of compost per vehicle per day during regular business hours. Each bag of compost is either 20 or 25 liters in size.

In exchange for the compost, residents must donate non-perishable food items or cash in support of Fort Erie COPE (Community Outreach Program – Erie), Grimsby Benevolent Fund, Goodwill Niagara, and Project Share.

Compost is available to residents of Niagara region at the following locations:

Bridge Street landfill

  • 1300 Bridge Street
  • Fort Erie
  • Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

 *Niagara Road 12 landfill

  • Concession Road 7 
  • West Lincoln
  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

*Compost is available to residents of Grimsby, Pelham, Lincoln and West Lincoln only

Humberstone landfill

  • 700 Humberstone Road
  • Welland
  • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

Recycling Centre

  • 5030 Montrose Road
  • Niagara Falls
  • Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • **Saturday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

** Recycling Drop-off Depot not open Saturday; compost pick-up only
