Assisted Living

Assisted living is for seniors who need personal support and homemaking services. The program is for seniors who do not meet eligibility criteria for long term care, but need more than independent living.

The program does not have registered nursing staff on site. Any required nursing care can be arranged through the Community Care Access Centre.

Eligibility depends on the specific needs of the client as assessed by the Community Care Access Centre.

Clients cannot be on a wait list for long-term care or need immediate or 24-hour availability of nursing care or other professional services.

Assisted living services are for adults who can live independently but need support with daily activities. They are non-clinical supports. Services may include:

  • Dressing
  • Bathing
  • Medication prompts
  • Laundry
  • Light housekeeping
  • Attendant support
  • Exercise / walking
  • Social programs

Additional Services

Additional services can be provided, on a scheduled basis and for a fee, with our contract providers, including:

  • Foot care
  • Mobility equipment servicing and repairs
  • Transportation

A service plan is developed with the resident to assess need and identify supports. Once identified, an annual assisted living agreement is signed. The agreement outlines the scope of assisted living services, and responsibilities of both the provider and the resident.
