Provincial Offences Act (POA) Victim Fine Surcharge

On Jan. 1, 1995, the Victim Fine Surcharge came into force across the province of Ontario. The surcharge will be levied on all fines imposed for convictions under Part I and Part III of the Provincial Offences Act (does not include parking offences).

Proceeds from the surcharge will be used to maintain and expand services to victims of crime. The surcharge will be enforced in the same manner as a fine.
