Sexual Debut

In Niagara, the percentage of adults ages 15-49 who reported having sexual intercourse before the age of 20 was 92.1% (2009-2010). This is significantly higher than adults in Ontario (85.6%).

Youth Sexual Behaviour

From 2009-2010, the percentage of youth aged 15-19 in Niagara who reported having sex is 39.6%. This is not significantly different than Ontario (38.0%).

Over the five years, there is no significant difference in youth sexual activity.

Condom Use

In Niagara, 66.3% of adults aged 15-49 who have had 2 or more sexual partners in the past 12 months used condoms the last time they had sex (2007-2008). This is not significantly different than Ontario, with 62.3% of adults using condoms the last time they had sex.

Data could not be released from 2005 and 2009-2010 because of the low number of people that this data was collected from.
