Extra Support for Expectant Mothers and New Parents

Healthy Babies Healthy Children is a free home-visiting program that assists expectant mothers and new parents who need more support.

Program Eligibility

Families identified through a screening/assessment process as needing extra help with:

  • Prenatal health care
  • Preparing for your baby
  • Making decisions about feeding your baby
  • Building strong relationships
  • Feeding your toddler
  • Your child's behaviour
  • Your child's growth and development
  • Being a positive parent
  • Connecting you to helpful services in Niagara

Expectant parents and parents with children under six years old are eligible to participate.

Home Visits

Skilled public health nurses and family home visitors will schedule informal sessions with you and your family at home.

The visits can be arranged between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The number of visits and the length of each visit will depend on your individual needs.
