The Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention division promotes:
  • Healthy eating
  • Tobacco-free living
  • Active living
  • Sun safety
  • Early detection of cancer to reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, obesity, and cancer

This division is also responsible for:

  • Preventing the misuse of drugs and alcohol
  • Helping people learn how to be safe in their everyday lives; in the home and on the road
  • Supporting workplace health through policy development
  • Enforcing the Smoke-Free Ontario Act
