How we measure this data
As reported by Public Works, Water and Wastewater.
Measured using flow meters installed at treatment plant water discharges.
This data is continually collected and is then totaled to provide the total treated volume.
Progress and advancements
Treated water is produced to meet customer demand, to maintain bulk water storage volumes and to assist in maintaining distribution system pressures for fire safety.
About this indicator
This indicator measures the total megalitres (ML) of drinking water treated over a 12-month period in six Region-operated water treatment plants: Decew Falls, Grimsby, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne, Rosehill and Welland.
