Community Dashboard: Motor vehicle personal injuries
Rationale and analysis
How we measure this data
As reported by Niagara Regional Police Service.
Motor vehicle personal injury figures reflect those that occur in Niagara Regional Police Service-designated areas in Niagara, which exclude all 400-series roads as they are Ontario Provincial Police-designated areas.
Progress and advancements
Due to COVID-19, 2020 was an unprecedented year where most businesses were closed and people stayed home. This situation resulted in an overall reduction in motor vehicle personal injuries and vehicle collisions, largely due to fewer people travelling and commuting. In 2021, with more businesses opened up and people back to travelling and commuting the motor vehcile personal injuries number has increased.
