About this indicator
The crime severity index includes violent crime, property crime, other Criminal Code offences as well as traffic, drug violations and all Federal Statutes as defined by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics.
The crime severity index considers not only the change in volume but the relative seriousness and associated sentencing of the crime.
